The Brooklyn Dance Project is a cutting edge dance studio in the Park Slope area of Brooklyn, NY. At Brooklyn Dance Project all teachers are highly trained teaching professionals and have all had an extensive performing career From movies to TV, dance companies and Broadway, they’ve done it all and are excited to pass on their knowledge to all of those motivated to learn.

We offer classes of all levels for ages 2 years to adults and many styles like ballet, hip hop, tap, jazz, modern jazz, contemporary jazz, modern, toddler ballet, boys hip hop, dance hall, musical theater (sing, dance and act) and singing. We also offer an amazing Pre-Professional program for children and teens of all levels and ages, as well as summer classes and summer camps/dance intensive program for ages 4 to teens.

Miss Karine Newborn, owner and director has taught many young and mature dancers, all styles of dance and many have become very successful. Some have gone to Alvin Ailey, American Ballet school, Hubard Street Dance Company,and some have danced and choreographed for Prince, Britney Spears, Paula Abdul and So You Think You Can Dance.

Our mission
At the Brooklyn Dance Project we believe in teaching the proper technique from the beginning, whether your dream is to become a professional dancer or simply just want to learn for the fun of it. We believe in correcting, not criticizing our students from the beginning so no bad habits are formed but we are also strong believers in learning while having fun. Our goal is to have each class taught in a fun and educational manner. The classes are made to be approachable for everyone who loves to dance, from the young dreaming to become a professional dancer to the person who has only dreamed of dancing but has never dared to give it a try!

In addition to regular dance classes we also provide an amazing pre-professional program for children looking to become professionals.
